K-Smooth; born as Kaijage Stambuli was born on May 26, 1992 in
Mount Vernon, New York. From his earliest memories he has always
been fascinated with hip hop, watching shows such as YO! MTV
Raps … while other kids were watching Saturday morning cartoons.
When he was 10 he moved up to Poughkeepsie, New York; a suburban
town further upstate. This is where the foundation for his music
would be spawned. He started freestyling at the age of 12 under
the name of “Black Magic”. By the time he was 14 he was posting
songs on the internet via Myspace with his newly formed group
“Lyrical Outlawz”.

The group lasted about a year, but that did
not slow him down; he continued to do solo work, while working
with other artists. During this time period he was making a name
for himself, although he did not consider his career serious. It
wasn’t until his senior year that he decided that he was going
to take it to another lever. With that thought in mind he locked
himself in his room for hours; day by day studying various great
rappers such as Jay-Z, 2pac, Kanye, etc. Studying their flows,
musical ability, style, marketing approaches, etc. With those
concepts in mind he molded it into his own, while at the same
time developing as many musical connections as possible. It was
around this time he found himself locked up in jail, almost
dropped out of school, and almost died twice from a pill
overdose, and an attempted suicide case. Despite all these
obstacles he has overcome them. The minute he enrolled in
college he has been posting track after track at a consistent
rate over the internet and his buzz is steadily increasing.

He released his debut mixtape “Shut Up And Listen” on 11/26/10 via
DatPiff.com which was a huge success and is now in the process
of releasing his sophomore mixtape “Fuckin’ Around” which is
expected to be released April 20th. He changed his name to
K-Smooth due to his smooth wordplay with the ladies. K-Smooth’s
style is versatile covering many topics; people growing up in
both urban and suburban neighborhoods can relate to. He is
guaranteed to be a major influence in the upcoming years of
hip-hop.
